Wow. What a weekend! Not that I engaged in any shenanegans that would make my mother cringe… I didn’t. But I did have a lot of fun. Considering what I mentioned Monday. Here are some of the events:
1.) The weekend started with my girlfriend (who happens to be an esthetician) deciding she wanted to practice her eyelash extension technique on me. This frightened me a bit because 1.) I already have really long lashes and 2.) I didn’t want to look like a queen.
She did them and to my surprise I kinda love them. I already get asked all the time if I have fake lashes on. Now I can say yes…
The pros: Can go out without eye make up (which typically I wouldn’t be caught dead doing) and not look like you haven’t slept in a week! Can use a lot less eye make up to get the same effect. You don’t have to mess with the strips if you want to be a little dramatic on a big night out.
The cons: You have to get them filled every two weeks (they are NOT cheap!), can’t use waterproof mascara (and can only put mascara at the tips not the roots) and you have to be kind of anal when removing eye make up.
2.) Me and my trani-lashes decided it was high time to have a blogger date with Miss Carrie from This Free Bird. Some of you may know her for her Bachelorette recaps , hilarious rhetoric and boho-chic style, but what you may not know is she is just as down to earth and hilarious in real life as you would imagine. She had me rolling for about 6 hours! (We were having so much fun we forgot to take pictures…an excuse to get together again soon!)
We went to the chef’s restaurant that she shared with us here and man was the food amazing! The chef is such a sweet guy too! Great food, great drinks and great company! Perfect way to spend a Saturday night. Can’t wait to do it again! (If you guys are ever in the area go to The Corner in Huntington Beach. You won’t be disappointed!)
3.) The day after my night of mayhem I had to prance around in beach in this bikini and cursed Carrie and the Chef just a little…;)
4.) I got a two hour skype date with my man from Iraq. (So it was 4am-6am..these days I take what I can get) He goes on leave and we get to spend two weeks together at the beginning of August. We are both excited. (And I have two weeks worth of outfits to plan!)
5.) I spent the last day of the weekend BBQing at a friends house, sipping margaritas and getting mentally ready to tackle this week. I think I get a big fat FAIL on the last bit…is it Friday yet?
