Red skin is something I’ve been dealing with for several years and it’s definitely an issue I look to products to help with. No one wants to deal with red skin, but I don’t really want to have to pile on a ton of makeup products just to hide it either. I feel like I have developed a pretty good makeup routine to cover things up, but I still hadn’t found a skincare product that actually worked until now. Actually, I take that back, I hadn’t found a skincare product that worked immediately upon application, until now…
I recently started using the Colorescience All Calm™ Clinical Redness Corrector SPF 50 and let me tell you…this is my new must have product.
WHAT IT IS:
Colorescience All Calm was developed for people with rosacea, adult acne, or other redness causing skin issues, to reduce the appearance of redness. It’s a 3 in one product that is suppose to correct the immediate appearance of redness protect the skin and address the ongoing issue of redness.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you are familiar with color correcting, then you already know, green neutralizes redness. Colorescience All Calm has subltle green undertones to help cancel out the redness. Since the number one trigger of rosacea is the sun, they put a chemical free SPF of 50 to really help counteract that and protect the skin. The ongoing relief comes from something called the BioSolace complex.
HOW TO USE IT:
Ok, so it is recommended to be used as the last step in your skincare routine right before you apply your makeup. Let me tell you my experience…
The first time I put it on, I noticed it’s tinted. When I put it all over my face it almost had a white cast and I got nervous for a minute thinking it might be the SPF. But then I let it sit for a few minutes while I did my brows and I noticed the white cast faded away and my skin literally had ZERO redness. The product gives a subtle tackiness that is perfect for priming your foundation so I used it as my primer and it worked beautifully.
I’ve been using it now for several days and it is the perfect product to replace your current makeup primer if you have a redness issue. No matter what level of coverage your foundation is, you won’t see redness peaking through. That’s my favorite thing about it. If I decided to use a light or medium coverage foundation, I can do that now without worrying. (Colorescience also has a foundation designed for redness as well!)
Also something worth noting…the tint adjusts to your skin so don’t worry about what your skin tone is, this product is designed to work.
I hope that helps you understand the product and what it does as well as decide if it’s right for you.
