As women, I think we are often in search of ways to stay or become more beautiful throughout the course of our lives. In this search we end up adopting certain beauty rituals that we swear by. These things can evolve and change, but sometimes the process by which that even happens can become a ritual.
I have a few things I do to make myself feel more beautiful, and as I’ve gotten older, some of those things are not as obvious as you’d think. First, every day I take some time for myself first thing in the morning. I wake up, make a cup of coffee and enjoy some quiet time. This helps me ease into the day. I feel that it is important to start the day calm because stress can really age you over time.
I also get to the gym and work out at least 5 days a week. This is for both health and weight maintenance. The day can quickly become very busy so I build that time into my schedule and I won’t schedule meetings or calls until I am done. I realize working from home allows me that luxury, but on the days I have a shoot early, or something comes up that I can’t control, I either schedule that as one of my two off days or I wake up earlier to get it done. My diet is also very clean, I don’t eat gluten or dairy (I can’t) and I also don’t eat corn or soy. I am a big believer in you are what you eat.
I recently tried Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner and I like them. They were gentle and its moisturizers left my hair feeling smooth, soft and hydrated. Oh and the other thing I do is let my hair air-dry. I never blow dry unless I go to the salon for a blow out. (It’s less damaging but honestly… it’s laziness!) You might be thinking, ‘If you air dry your hair, doesn’t it get frizzy?’ The short answer is yes, it can. But here’s a little hair hack you can use: Put a dab of Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner in your hand and use it to smooth flyaways when you don’t have any hairspray or serum nearby!
I think that no matter what your beauty routine, the most important thing is you do it for YOU. If you feel beautiful, you can put your best foot forward to the world. Personally I wear makeup every single day. Even if I’m not going anywhere, I will at least put on some tinted moisturizer and mascara. It makes me feel great and at the end of the day, that’s what counts.
What are some of your beauty rituals that make you feel beautiful?
