I dropped a few hints on instagram a few weeks ago and I am happy to finally announce that I recently teamed up with AOL to shoot a series of episodes for their new fashion and beauty channel! The videos included both makeup and fashion tutorials and I am really excited to share those with you soon.
In the meantime, I thought I would share some of the amazing products I received to create my makeup tutorials. Some of the products I was familiar with and some were new but I love playing with makeup and creating different looks, so it has been a lot of fun. A huge thanks to each and every one of these brands!!
MAC: who doesn’t love MAC Cosmetics right? If you are into makeup then you probably have at least one MAC product in your kit. Personally, I am a HUGE fan so I was thrilled to work with them. Here are some of the products I got to play with:
Powder Blush in Fleur Power: This is the perfect pinky peach shade. I am a huge MAC blush fan because this stuff is pigmented and really stays put all day.
MAC Penultimate Liner in Rapid Black: This was a new product for me but I love it. I’m not sure what it is, but it allows me to draw the most precise line. I don’t have to sit there obsessing over trying to get both eyes even. It is really so easy.
MAC False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara: Another new one and another great one. Being the mascara obsessed person that I am, it might surprise you that I have never tried MAC mascara. It sort of surprised me too! This formula is all about volumizing.
MAC Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden: MAC Bronzer is one of the first I ever used. It’s an oldy but goody. It’s really pigmented so blending is key.
MAC Concealer in NC15: I have been a fan of this concealer for awhile. It gives great coverage and highlights at the same time.
MAC 7 Lash: These are my favorite MAC Lashes. Not too thick, not too thin, but really glam and really pretty. I love these for girl’s night out!
MAC Lipstick in Snob: I have an obsession with pink lipsticks and I have so many from MAC but I didn’t have this one and I’m so glad I do now! It’s a beautiful pale pink. Of all the lipsticks I’ve ever tried, I always come back to MAC for their long wearing, great formula.
Eye Shadows: I was sent several shades and decided combine them with shades I already had to create a bronze and rose gold palette. I included a variety of mattes and shimmery shades that are great for a variety of looks. I love to create customizable palettes because with most palettes there are certain colors I will use all the time and certain colors I won’t. This palette with get A LOT of use. I used it in the videos and I’m excited for you to see more looks I create.
Here are the colors from left to right:
1st row: Butterscotch, Jest, Honey Lust, Paradisco, Sketch
2nd row: Rice Paper, Motif, Sable, Amber Lights, Satin Taupe
3rd row: Kid, Soba, Wood Winked, Tempting, Embark.
Whitening Lightning Color Your Smile Glosses: I talked about these glosses in my last favorites video. Since then I’ve acquired a few more colors. These are my favorite lip glosses of all time. Ever. They they’re not too sticky, but just tacky enough to stay on. I wear them alone or over lipsticks and I even layer them to create new colors.
Shades from left to right:
Summer Sun, Rose Hill, Raspberry Sherbet, Pink Tiara, Sugar Mama
Vincent Longo Creme Gel Eyeliner: Golden Orbit and Flamenco – Love these. Really shimmery and pretty. They’re perfect for adding a bit of glam to a bronze smokey eye.
Beauty Blender and Mini: This is a must have product. I swear by the Beauty Blender for flawless blending of foundation, concealer and setting powder. It’s amazing. The mini is their newest creation which works amazing for under eye concealer, the corners of the nose and eye lids. It’s SO good.
Lola V Lashes: As you can see I haven’t tried these yet, but I love lashes so I am looking forward to them.
BH Cosmetics: I did a review of a few products a few weeks ago and I was so impressed that I couldn’t resist getting some more. Love all of the stuff I got and still one of the best for the price point.
Special Occasion Palette: This palette comes with shadows, bronzers, setting powder and blushes. It’s a great palette to travel with because the colors work for both day and night looks and it cuts down on having to pack a bunch of separate products. Like the other palettes I’ve tried the colors are pigmented and amazing.
BH Lip Gloss in Knock Out: This gloss has a great texture and color. It’s a pretty rose shade and I love it alone or over lipstick.
BH Studio Pro Waterproof Eye Primer: In my last review I had tried a the correcting primer and I made mention that it didn’t last as long as I would have liked. I’ve been searching for an alternative for Urban Decay and this is the one, it lasts all day!
BH Pro Matte Finish Pressed Powder: I am a total powder girl. Due to my tendency to get shiny throughout the day, I always gravitate to matte finish powders. I love this powder because it really does keep the shine at bay and also has great coverage.
BH Makeup Remover Towelettes: I realized last minute I didn’t have makeup wipes and I got these to do changes between tutorials. They are awesome! They remove makeup, dirt and even lash glue with ease. They smell great and are great for travel.
BH Cosmetics Contour and Blush Palette: I was dying to try this because I love to contour and highlight. So far I’ve tried the white and banana shades and they work great over your concealer to set and highlight.
BH Party Girl After Hours Palette: The name says it all. This palette has awesome colors to make bold looks for a night on the town. It has 4 diamond shades that add that extra glittery touch. These are extremely pigmented and I am really looking forward to doing some tutorials.
Lola V White Lolita Kit: I was first introduced to Lola V at BeautyCon (see lashes above) and these cases are a dream! So perfect for traveling and the makeup mirror and lights are amazing. I’m so in love with this! It was perfect for hauling my makeup to the shoot and made application a breeze.
Oh Neutrogena…how I love thee. One of my favorite drug store brands. A few of my staples and a few newbies.
Shine Control Primer and Healthy Skin Primer: I use one or both every single day. Love love love. I use shine control during the warmer weather and also when I am going to be out for awhile. The healthy skin I use more for everyday. I’ve talked about these endlessly and I use them in almost every makeup tutorial.
Neutrogena Long Wear Foundation: I did a flawless skin tutorial while back where I give my full review of this stuff. Basically I love it. I use it constantly.
Neutrogena Shine Control Foundation: I love the shine control products so I wanted to try this. I haven’t yet but I am excited about it. Neutrogena Shine Control Powder: I carry this in my handbag at all times. I tend to get shiny and this powder is translucent and gets rid of shine without looking cakey. SO good.
Neutrogena 3 in 1 Concealer: This concealer is really great for every day use. It goes on light and is buildable so you can create the desired level of coverage. I also talked about this in that video.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector: This is a new product I am trying. I love MAC Prep + Prime and this is acomparable drug store version.
Tarte is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands. Their Amazonian product line is so amazing, so far there’s not one product I’ve tried that I haven’t liked. One of my favorite things (in addition to how beautiful they are) is they are all paraban, sulfate, gluten and cruelty free. It’s makeup we can all feel good about!
Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder: This is probably on my list of top 3 finishing powders of all time. It’s a translucent powder that not only provides a matte finish but also smoother and softer looking skin.
Tarte Clean Slate Poreless Primer: I’m kind of in love with this. I just tried it for the first time the other day and it glides over the skin effortlessly, filling in pores and lines. It really grips foundation and makes constant touch ups a thing of the past. I also didn’t get shiny at all. I used it with the foundation and finishing powder and my skin looked flawless all day in the extreme heat.
Tarte Marajuca Creasless Concealer in Medium: This is one product I’ve actually been using for awhile and is probably what drew me into this brand. Another in my top 3 list. Right now, I’d say it ranks number 1. The reason being is, it truly is creasless. A big issue when highlighting under the eyes, is after a few hours, the concealer settles into lines. This stuff not only stays put for hours, but stays creasless and its extremely moisturizing so it never looks caky. Seriously a dream product!
Tarte Limited Edition Amazonian Clay Dual Liner in Black/Bronze: I try extremely hard not to get attached to products that are limited edition. There is nothing worse then finding something amazing, only to have them take it away. Tarte, you are killing me with this. Probably one of the BEST gel liners I have ever tried and you are making it limited edition?! (insert tears here) You guys, I would run out and buy this stuff immediately. I am seriously considering stocking up before they take it away. (Or you could always petition them to reconsider and make it permanent. (Don’t think it hasn’t crossed my mind!) It goes on so silky smooth, stays put, doesn’t cake, is so beautifully pigmented. Love, love, love.
Tarte: Lights Camera Lashes Mascara: As I mentioned, I am mascara obsessed and if you make it to the top of my list you are probably really good. This one is top 5. Lengthening, volumizing, curling and conditioning this mascara has it all.
Tarte LipSurgence Power Pigment in Fearless and True Love: These are so lovely. They apply like a stain but wear like a balm. They are super moisturizing and leave a nice color and shine.
Tarte LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint in Energy: Like the power pigment, this is really hydrating and shiny, but what sets it apart is that it reacts to your lip’s pH, giving you your own unique shade of pink. Both of these lip formulas are amazing. They feel so luxurious and are really the perfect cure if you have dry cracked lips. I started out in the morning with light pink lips, by midday they were a bright berry, by evening they were almost red. So cool.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation in Light-Medium Honey: Although this is full coverage it is still build able and not at all heavy. Like all of the other products by this brand, it is really moisturizing. This is my first time using this foundation and I am really impressed by it. Though it is still really hot in LA, it doesn’t make me too shiny and I think the moisturizing properties are going to make it even more perfect for winter. As I mentioned, I put this on with the primer and the setting powder and I literally didn’t have to touch up my makeup all day.
Tarte Best in Faux: I love the concept of this, but I haven’t quite got the application down yet. It’s basically a wand that contains fibers you add to your lashes to create a faux lash look without adding falsies. My first attempt at applying bordered comical until I accidentally got a fiber in my eye. (Note to self: read directions) I will re attempt and get back to you!
If you guys try any of these products let me know what you think and stay tuned for the videos I will be sharing with you soon!
