Monochrome Mint and A Fresh Start

Mint I had a nice long weekend of procrastinating my taxes doing not much of anything. I made sure to enjoy it while it lasted because this week is going to be crazy. I have meetings, events and the Lucky Fabb conference and somewhere in there I will get my taxes done and finish all my school work. (I hope.) I am certainly not complaining. A week full of fashion is exactly how I like it!

I also really like spring. There’s something about it that feels new. In most places winter has faded, the snow melts, flowers begin to bloom and there is a feeling of nature awakening. Though I live in a place where the weather is almost always good, spring still feels like a renewal or a fresh start. The start of a new chapter maybe. The fashion trends are certainly fresh and pastels are huge right now. They remind me of being a kid and picking out a new Easter dress for dinner at my grandmother’s. (Minus the patent leather shoes and floral covered handbag!)

This mint ensemble has a monochrome base with splashes of white. The opaque skirt balances the sheer top and a jacket is necessary during this time when it can cool down pretty quickly. I added a lace-up sandal and splashes of bling with my favorite earrings and an oldy but goody cocktail ring. Of course I can’t leave home without my sunnies and couldn’t resist matching these to my mani. Overall this look is light, bright, airy and perfect for Easter dinner at my grandmother’s…if she didn’t live 3000 miles away.
