Midi Skirt at Venice Beach

Well July is coming to an end and I can’t believe how fast the summer is zipping by. It’s bitter sweet really. This summer has brought me some amazing opportunities, personal growth and friendship realizations, which have been much needed. Sometimes you need a little rain to get the rainbow and as I get older, I can appreciate that. This summer has been a great self reflection time, but I am looking forward to what’s ahead this fall. I have even more exciting things to come and of course there is fall fashion! I’m looking forward to exploring the trends as well as the classics: chunky knits, jewel tones, lots of textures (ie: leather!) Ok maybe I’m getting a little ahead of myself. Let’s talk about this outfit…

This midi skirt has turned out to be a really great purchase. I can style it so many ways both casual and dressy (and I will definitely be taking it into fall!) I wore this midi skirt outfit to a Sunday lunch date with a friend in Venice and though earlier in the day a crazy thunder and lightening storm broke out, the day turned out to be sunny and perfect for a beachy stroll. I’ve spoken about my obsession this summer with pineapples, so it’s no surprise I had to have this tank. It’s so whimsy and fun, which is really perfect for the Venice Beach vibe. The sandals are a new favorite that I’ve been wearing non stop since I got them. (You may have seen them on instagram.) There was actually a thong that went between the toes, that I promptly cut out. Now they are pretty much the perfect summer shoe and the stacked heel allows them to work for day or night. This bag you know is on repeat and by now have seen a number of times, and I finished the look with a fun summer panama hat. I brought my trusty cropped denim jacket just in case it rained again. (I swear that jacket was the best money I’ve ever spent…!)
