I don’t know about you guys, but I am in full summer vacation mode (even on a Tuesday) and with the fourth upon us, I am thinking about easy day to night transitional outfits.
When I think easy, I think maxi dresses. They are that one and done piece that is so easy to style, super forgiving if you have too many margaritas (with chips and salsa, let’s be honest…) and are easy to take from day to night. They are particularly awesome if you are traveling because they take up very little suitcase space. I just roll them up and I can pack a week’s worth of clothes in a carry on.
For day, I like pairing them with a summery jacket like this vintage Levis version. Sneakers or flat sandals give it a relaxed vibe that’s great for site seeing or whatever day activities you have on the agenda.
For night all I would do is remove the jacket, maybe put my hair up, add some statement earrings and a pair of heels.
So to recap, the 3 reasons a maxi is a vacation must have piece:
- Easy to pack and take up very little suitcase space.
- One and done dressing – no need to think too hard, throw it on and go!
- They are versatile – style with flats for day and change into heels for night.
I also put together a few cute maxi’s I love below!
