I’m finally back in Los Angeles and it is completely bitter sweet. I am already missing Europe, all it’s beauty, it’s slower pace and less stressful vibe. But in a way, it feels good to get back and begin to get organized, be able to get so much more done, the efficiency and convenience we have here in the U.S… There are pros and cons to both sides I suppose, but I can’t help but fantasize what life would be life living over seas for a short time. I think it would be pretty amazing to have that experience, but I will say, Europe definitely brings out the American in me. There is no Target, no main stream grocery stores, no one stop shopping, but rather, if you want bread, you go to the baker, if you want meat, you go to the butcher, if you want fresh produce you go to the farmers market…who has that kind of time? Europeans do, and maybe that’s why they slow things down, enjoy life more, focus more on life as an experience rather than a race to make a dollar. Work is something you do, not who you are and it is part of your life, not your whole life. I both admire and envy that and wish I could be less career driven and a bit nicer to myself. Regardless, I appreciate the experience of traveling and being able to learn about cultural differences that are both better and worse than my own. It’s the kind of education you can never read in a book and it really makes you realize there is so much to learn about the world.
As far as work, I tried to do some in Mykonos, but it was so beautiful (no, seriously…on another level of beautiful!) I wanted to soak up as much as I could (Stay tuned for the most amazing photo diary EVER) I knew the minute I got back I would go straight back to 16 hour work days, a crazy school schedule and no time for myself so I decided I needed to take the time and just enjoy it (You know, try that whole ‘being nicer to myself’ thing.) I did manage to go through some of my photos and here is my second photo diary from my time in London. It’s a big one, but each photo tells a story about my trip (There is a mix of DSLR and Samsung shots) and they are memories I will cherish forever.
A huge thank you to my amazing friends Leigh and Dena for everything. It’s because of you I accomplished what I came there for and had the most amazing time. You both are the best.
Nice photos!
