Instagram Hooky and Sweater Weather

instagramHi Lovely’s! So I know I said I was going to keep you updated on Instagram this weekend on my garage sale happenings, but it was literally so chaotic, I didn’t have the chance. A lame excuse, I know, but none the less, the truth. I spent almost the entire day Saturday away from Instagram, email, Twitter…infact I spent most of the day away from my phone AND computer. I can not tell you the last time I did that, but if I’m being honest, it was kind of great. I had more focus, less distraction and enjoyed being in the moment a little more. This blogger life requires me to be plugged in almost all of the time, but once in awhile, completely disconnecting is good for the soul…so I did it again on Sunday! Have you guys ever just intentionally disconnected?

So the garage sale was insanity but kind of fun. I had no idea that it is for some people, a competitive sport! There was one woman who showed up the night before trying to look at my jewelry before anyone else. And though we advertised a 7am start time, people showed up at 6:15 and camped out! It was nuts! I couldn’t believe the things people bought and this gave me a whole new perspective on the things I have. I will definitely think twice about throwing something away or just tossing in my Good Will pile. The sale wasn’t without a few casualties. My friend accidentally sold my Foley + Corinna Bag for $8 and a pair of Citizen’s jeans accidentally got hauled off to Good Will at the end of the day.  I was a bit bummed but I had to remind myself why I was doing this sale in the first place, to purge what I no longer use. So it bothered me for a minute and then I let it go.

Ok, now let’s talk about this outfit. Just because spring is here doesn’t mean sweater weather has to be over. This open knit sweater is actually perfect for a warmer day. I love this coral shade and it went perfectly with these jeans. I wanted to keep things on the lighter side so I tied it together with nude and gold accessories. This sweater is by a brand I recently discovered called Dex. They are a Canadian brand and are carried at Nordstrom. I am in love with so many of their pieces I highly recommend checking them out!

A quick note about this necklace, it supports an anti bullying effort.  A portion of the sales is donated to support victims of bullying. I think we have all at one time in our life, experienced some type of bullying and it’s time we put a stop to it. Mean girls isn’t just a movie, for some kids, it’s reality.

Ok off to battle this crazy week and I promise no more playing hooky from instagram!
