Naughty and Nice Holiday Makeup

This post is sponsored by Target, but all opinions are ALWAYS my own. Thank you for supporting the amazing brands that make Glam Latte possible!

A few weeks ago, I posted about holiday makeup I picked up at Target with the help of the Beauty Concierge. Today, I am continuing that theme with some new additions.

If you are following me on instagram, you probably know I’ve been traveling a lot these past few weeks, which is why I have yet to create my holiday makeup looks for you. But not to worry, they are coming soon!

I decided I wanted to create a “naughty” and a ”nice” look, and I had to gather some products to do just that. I am obsessed with drugstore makeup lately and being able to really play with different products at a low price point, so off to Target I went!

After chatting with my Beauty Concierge for quite a while, swapping product favorites, recommendations and some new beauty tricks we had both heard about, it was time to get down to business.

For the naughty look, I wanted to break some makeup rules. One rule for me is I never wear red lipstick (OK, so maybe that’s more of a preference than a rule!) I think the holidays are a perfect time to play with red, and I picked up this Ultra HD color called Poppy from Revlon. The Beauty Concierge recommended this for hydration, and it’s SO good! My lips get so dry in the winter months, and this formula is perfect. Hydration is important when wearing dark colors because dry, flakey lips become a lot more obvious.

Another rule is, if you are going to play up lips, you should keep the eye look simple and vice versa. Of course, no holiday look is complete without some sparkle, so time to break that rule too! Last time I picked up a glitter liner, but this time I got this glittery shadow by Wet and Wild in Brass. What I love about this is that, unlike loose glitter, it has a sticky consistency so it adheres to your lids, so it’s great for adding some sparkle over an eye shadow look.

Another rule is bronzer is reserved for the summer. Well, I don’t know about you, but for me, being pale is not an option. I refuse to forgo the bronzer no matter what time of year it is. That being said, there is no need to look like I stepped off the beach. A subtle bronze glow is just enough to keep from looking like Casper the Friendly Ghost!

I decided to try the shimmering loose powder bronzer by Sonia Kashuk in the shade golden. I hadn’t tried this brand in quite a long time, but it didn’t disappoint. This powder does exactly what I want it to do– it provides a nice sheer wash of shimmer to create that healthy glow.

I also picked up the Matte Finish spray by NYX Cosmetics. This is not a new product to me. I have been using this for close to a year and, in my opinion, it is the best setting spray out there. And for $6, totally worth it! This is a must-have item to keep all that work you did on your holiday makeup in place all night!

For my nice look, I wanted to create something somewhat in my comfort zone that had a sweet vibe to it. I still stand by the “sparkle is mandatory” philosophy, so when I saw this Revlon PhotoReady eye art,I was intrigued. One side is the base and the other is a glitter topper. It comes in several colors, but I chose this pink-and-fuchsia combo because nothing says sweet like pink, right?

Rosy cheeks are a great way to achieve that “nice” look. Another Sonia Kashuk product I had to try was the powder blush in the shade melon. It is really similar to the blush I have been using in all my tutorials for the past six months. (When I find something I love I tend to stick with it!) This is a more affordable option, has great color payoff and staying power, and is definitely a new favorite.

Those are the new products I picked with the help of the Beauty Concierge at Target. I am in the process of coming up with some holiday looks using these, along with what I picked up during my last shopping trip. Stay tuned for those looks and tutorials soon!
