Greece Photo Diary // 41 Photos of Pure Beauty

When I was a teenager, I came across a photo of a blue domed building on the edge of the sea. I later found out it was an island called Santorini. I decided in that moment I needed to go to this place and vowed some day I would. That hasn’t happened quite yet because when the opportunity came I instead made a decision to go to her sister island, Mykonos. But guess what? They have those same blue domed roofs on the edge of the sea and when I saw one for the first time in the flesh, I felt so proud of myself for making this dream come true.

While I was in Mykonos, showing restraint on instagram was a challenge. I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of the island I couldn’t stop snapping photos and I wanted to share them with everyone. I did post some on social media but here is the massive photo diary of my Greece trip and let me say, I did not edit, photoshop or filter a single shot. These were all taken with my Canon Rebel T3i and this is the pure beauty of Greece captured. It is hard to wrap ones head around this type of beauty (at least it was for me) and when I was there I wanted to remember it forever. Hence why I took as many photos as I possibly could! My apartment which is the photo below, was so cute with its red wooden shutters and doors and had the most unbelievable view which you can see in the picture just below that. Everyday I woke up and looked out the french doors of my bedroom and wanted to pinch myself!

There are a million shades of blue on this island and there are the cutest wooden doors that are so picturesque even when tattered and worn. It’s also hard to fathom, how old this place is. Each nook and cranny has a story to tell dating back centuries. And the sunsets! They were some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. I tried to capture them as best I could, because the sky changed colors so many times before the sun finally went down, I literally could’ve sapped pictures of it for 2 hours and each photo would look different than the last. One day a rain storm came and it was beautiful and eery and amazing. (I have some video footage of it in my video diary/vlog that will be up tomorrow so come back and watch it if you want to see the beauty live and in motion!)

Being gluten and dairy intolerant in Greece was a bit of a challenge, I ate a lot of fruit and drank black coffee (Greek coffee is really strong!) But I honestly didn’t care. I was so overwhelmed with having 6 days in this beautiful place, I would’ve ate sticks if I had to.

Everyone should see this place at least once in their lives. But if you can’t make that a reality right now, I’ve got you covered with a ton of photos. I hope you enjoy them and if you have any questions about Mykonos leave them in the comments!
