Gold Confetti

This dress reminds me of gold confetti. I have literally had it for years but it sat there unworn with a broken zipper until a few weeks ago when I decided it was time to take it to the tailor. Now it’s as good as new and just in time for the new year! I love it paired with this sparkly necklace, python clutch and disheveled bed head.

Speaking of the New Year, I haven’t really discussed resolutions. I almost never make any but for some reason this year I feel like I want to set a few goals. The reason being is, it’s so easy to procrastinate or put things off, but the reality is, life is short and I want to live it with no regrets. So here are a few things I am planning for 2014:

1. Finish my masters degree. I am in grad school and will be finishing this year, but what that includes is an internship and a thesis project, both of which will be major life changing tasks.

2. Travel to Europe. This is my favorite place on earth, and also, the place that has made me the happiest in my life. I was there twice in 2009, and I literally have never felt that kind of joy before or since. It’s about time I go back. This year I plan to make it happen.

3. Learn more photography. I know the basics, but now that I have an amazing camera, it’s time to step things up.

4. Take some more time for me. As I mentioned here, I had a brief stint in the hospital a few weeks ago. While I was there, the doctor told me how important it was to manage my stress. It’s not that I didn’t know this already, but when it starts to directly affect your health…well, you start to pay more attention. So that means, random massage appointments, just because, well, I deserve it!
