Finding the perfect denim skirt is kind of like finding the perfect pair of jeans, it’s tough to find one that fits like a glove, but when you do, it’s magical.
I don’t wear skirts often, however, when I do denim skirts are my favorite type to wear. I only have a few that fit me like perfection and this destroyed denim version from One Teaspoon is my absolute favorite. Now you may think denim in general is pretty casual, and in particular, destoyed denim, so I wanted to style a look to show how to elevate this casual piece into something that is a little more dressed up.
I of course used my go to outfit formula, which I have talked about over and over in most of my looks. I take something feminine and pair it with something edgy and then style the details towards the vibe I’m after, which in this case is a dressier look. This ruffle top is so amazing, I scored it during the last Shopbop sale and while it is a crop, the high waist of this skirt allows it to be tucked.
I am currently obsessing over the layered choker look and this one from 7 Charming Sisters is so comfortable you don’t even know it’s on. I added the Simplicity necklace also from 7 Charming Sisters, which is one piece that adds that layered drama. You should check out their site for some really affordable, super chic pieces, that work for whatever your personal style is. They are actually quite a cool company, here are some more details:
