I’ll never forget the day I packed up my crappy 1988 Volvo full of stuff and set out on an adventure. That adventure was a cross country trip that was a bumpy ride full of laughs, a broken water pump, a super bowl victory and finally the arrival to my new life in Los Angeles. Sometimes I envy that time, when I looked at this city with fresh eyes, seeing so much possibility for all my hopes and dreams to come true. I still love this place as much as I did then, but the love has grown and changed much like an old married couple. We’ve had our ups and downs, but I will always love it for bringing out the best of me and teaching me so much about myself.
I grew up by the beach, which may explain why I always gravitate towards it. Living the beach life in Los Angeles is pretty amazing and sometimes I forget how good I have it. Today I am sharing a few of my favorite places.
1. The Manhattan Beach Pier. This is the place to be in the summer or winter for biking, roller blading, a romantic evening stroll or to just sit and read. The weather here is always good so it’s a great place to go all year round and sometimes if you look out you can see dolphins.

2. Le Pain Quotidien: This is my favorite place to go especially on Sundays for brunch. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and they have such an amazing healthy menu that accommodates my food allergies. There are often celeb sightings, for example a few weeks back I saw Michael Strahan (Michael and Kelly) and his finance Nicole Murphy (Hollywood Ex’s.)
3. Shade Hotel: This is one of my favorite spots for cocktails in my neighborhood. It’s a little glam by the beach and there’s a great patio to sit, sip and chat. I love the vibe and you can get all dolled up or keep things casual, either way you’ll fit in and feel comfortable.
Have you guys ever been to my hood? I’d love to hear your experiences here!
Honey by Marc Jacobs is a sunny delicious floral – energetic and alluring, with a sparkling, golden touch. The perfect mix of brightness and warmth. The fragrance energizes with the freshness of green pear brightened with a splash of fruity punch and juicy mandarin. At the heart of the fragrance is orange blossom, a note of sparkling femininity that mingles with nectars of honeysuckle and peach. Honey, vanilla, and smooth woods dry down to a warm, golden base.
