This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Aloha, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #myAloha and #AlohaMoment http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
The holiday season is often the time of year when we indulge in sweet treats, sugary drinks and festive bites. This often leaves our New Years resolutions a bit bigger than we originally thought. That is why I wanted to interrupt the regularly scheduled holiday chat to focus on something healthy.
I am on a constant fitness journey, whether it’s for my health, or for vanity reasons, I am always aware of what I am putting in my body when it comes to food. The fact that I have gluten and dairy intolerances has forced me to really educate myself on ingredients and additives. It’s because of this that I can sometimes get on my soap box (my personal training certification also gives me some leverage) and preach about the fact that there is a lot of unnecessary junk in our foods…all of our foods, including so called ‘health’ foods and protein powders.
It has taken me a long time to figure this out, and to figure out what really is ok, and what is not. When I was introduced to Aloha, of course my immediate reaction is to be skeptical, but when I read the label I was really pleased. This protein powder is made with whole foods, has 18 grams of plant based protein (which is easier to digest and much better for you than whey) and has a complete amino acid profile (this means it will help you tone those muscles!) My favorite part, however, is there are no added chemicals and no artificial flavors, sweeteners or fillers.
You may be thinking ‘Yes, but how does it taste?’ Actually, to my delight, it’s really yummy and I think you guys will really like it! Personally I am partial to all things chocolate so I made an simple (and delicious if I do say so) smoothy recipe for you. Scroll down!
Chocolate Raspberry Smoothy
1 packet Aloha Chocolate protein
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup Almond or Coconut milk
6 oz of cold spring water
Put all the ingredients in the blender and voila!
*(I supplement water rather than make the entire drink with the milk because it cuts down on unnecessary calories but you can use the almond or coconut milk if you prefer)
XO,
Interesting… I'd give it a try!
