I have been an avid water drinker for years. I have a bottle filled with filtered water with me at all times like a second appendage. I have heard a lot of people say that they have trouble getting their water intake for various reasons, some of which include, quality of tap water and cost of filtered. I’ve also hear people say it’s ‘boring.’
I decided to team up with Brita® to create some fun recipes to dress up your water and show that tap water can become filtered water, for very little money, while also doing some good for our environment!
Last week I was in Safeway and I spotted the Brita pitcher (which happens to come in different colors but I opted for white) and snagged it for under $30. That seemed like such a reasonable price to save on plastic (1 Brita filter = 300 plastic bottles saved!) and get crisp filtered water in a moments notice. They also carried the filters so I picked some of those up as well.
I wanted to create 4 ways to dress up your water for summer that were refreshing and delicious, so I also picked up some fruit and here’s what I came up with. It’s like spa water in a way and the fruit infused some flavor, while still tasting crisp and clean. Here are the four flavors:
Coconut Pineapple
Raspberry Lime
Cucumber Mint
Strawberry Kiwi
There is no limit you the creativity with this. You can do Blueberry Mango, lemon, lime etc. The Brita filter makes this so easy to do and perfect if you are having company on your patio!
And because Brita and I want you to have clean delicious water this summer, we are doing a giveaway for one of you!! Scroll down to the bottom of the post for details!
Here are some more benefits of using a water Brita filter:
- Better Water: better tasting and better for you. Brita reduces the taste and odor of chlorine, and other contaminants, to deliver great-tasting water while removing impurities that can cause illness over time
- Better Health: drinking more water helps you boost your immune system, consumer less sugar, lose weight and sleep better. It is especially important for infants, children and breastfeeding moms.
- Better World: by drinking filtered water, you are reducing the amount of plastic bottles that end up in our landfills and oceans.
- Better Value: with every sip, you are saving costs on water. The estimated annual cost for a Brita pitcher is $89 compared to $1,034 estimated annual costs of buying bottled water.
