3 Quick Summer Vacation Hair Styles

In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve been having a bit of a summer vacation theme around here. Well there is a pretty good reason for that and if you have been following me on snapchat or instagram then you’ve seen the fun places I’ve been so far. All have been ridiculously hot and I had to become really strategic about my hair.

The last thing you want to deal with in the heat is styling your hair, but when you are on summer vacation and have all kinds of cute outfits, you don’t want to look sloppy either.

I wanted to share three hair looks that saved the day for me and hopefully will help you too! And if you aren’t traveling, they are still cute summer hairstyles that work when you are short on time. The best part? They are super easy!

vacation hair what you need

What you’ll need

The tools and products are so few, it will save you so much space when packing. A small brush, some hair ties, bobby pins, dry shampoo and hair oil are the only things I have been using for travel.

vacation hair side swept

1. Side Swept

I love this look especially for getting dressed up. Nice dinners, cocktails or anything that calls for a pretty dress and it is SO easy to do. It’s literally two steps:

  1. Brush all the hair to one side
  2. Secure with bobby pins.

It doesn’t more simple! I also usually add some dry shampoo to the roots and oil to the ends.

Vacation hair side braid

2. Side Braid

There are lots of different kinds of braids you can do, and I think it depends on the length and style of your existing cut that will determine which one will be best. For this look I actually did a fishtail braid which is pretty easy, but a standard works also.

  1. Pull the hair in a low side pony and secure with a hair tie.
  2. Braid with your method of choice.
  3. Secure the end with another hair tie.

I like using this style of I don’t have a lot of time to dry my hair or I don’t want to deal with using the a blow dryer in the heat.

vacation hair top knot

3. Half Top Knot

This look is super on trend and is flirty and fun. It’s also great for those days when you might need to wash your hair but you just don’t have the time.

  1. Spray the roots with dry shampoo and apply oil to the ends.
  2. Seperate a section of hair at the crown and wrap it into a bun.
  3. Secure with a hair tie and pull the sides of the bun until you have the shape and size that you want.

I feel like this look is great for daytime, site seeing, beach or pool days.

Let me know what you think of these easy vacation hairstyles and if you try any!
